Pastor Christopher E. Kellogg was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, the son of Kenneth and
Virginia Kellogg.  He has one sister, Marcella Marshall, and one brother, Carl.  He started going to the
Lutheran Church when he was invited by his neighbor friend to attend V.B.S. in the summer of 1966.  
He was received into God’s Kingdom of Grace by Holy Baptism on March 17, 1968 and was
confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Denver, on April 7, 1968.

He is a graduate of Denver Lutheran High School and St. John’s College, Winfield, where he met his
wife, Mary (Brack).  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1976 from Concordia
Teachers College, Seward.  He was then called to teach and be the youth minister at Redford
Lutheran Church and School in Detroit, Michigan, where he served from 1976 to 1978.

Pastor Kellogg entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1978.  He received the Master of Divinity
Degree in May of 1982.  On July 18, 1982 he was ordained into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament
at his home church in Denver.  He was installed one week later as the pastor of Zion, Big Springs, and
St. John’s, Brule, Nebraska, where he served until December 1986.  He served St. John, Alma, Kansas
from January 1987 until August 1996, and Bethany Lutheran Church, Pueblo, Colorado from
September 1996 until accepting the Call to Our Savior Lutheran Church of Sedalia in May of 2008,
where he now serves as Senior Pastor.  Pastor Kellogg was a Circuit Counselor for over 20 years of
his ministry.  He helped to organize and served as Mission Pastor to two congregations, one in
Eskridge, KS, and the other in Walsenburg, CO.  He has also served as vice-chairman of the Rocky
Mountain District Pastors’ Conference, and as chairman of the Rocky Mountain District Licensed
Deacon Committee for five years.

On August 20, 1977 he was joined in marriage to Mary Ann, daughter of Billy and Gladys Brack.  She
was born and raised on a farm near Great Bend, Kansas. God has blessed their union with four
children: Jeremy Allen, born May 27, 1978; Amanda Joy, born May 18, 1980; Joseph Andrew, born
May 2, 1982; and Alicia Marie, born May 24, 1984.  Daughter Amanda has blessed Pastor and Mary
with a grandson, Trenton, and granddaughter, Ailee, and lives on a ranch near Rosewell, NM.  Son
Jeremy and his wife, Terry, have three sons, James, Oliver and Timothy, and live in Denver, CO.  Son
Joseph is single and living in Denver and is going to college to become an alternate energy
electrician.  Daughter Alicia is single, lives in Lawrence, KS, and is a part-time student and works full-

Pastor Kellogg enjoys woodworking, fishing and reading mystery novels in his spare time.  Mary
enjoys working and playing in the outdoors, and being a good friend to those around her.  Of course,
both of them love to see their children and grandchildren in person and by internet as much as
